The
project

Whilst my time as a working student at Happy Ocean Foods I had the opportunity to design the packaging of their first product to enter the retail market: Happy Ocean Shrymps.

The company wished to pursue a strongly branded, bright and colourful approach in their packaging that should straight away represent the brands identity: young and happy. Another important factor was the inclusion of waves and a playful use of font.

Together with the two founders and the Sr. Marketing Manager we discussed different design drafts I created until we decided on the final version. I then prepared the print-ready file with all cut and fold marks and handled the printing process.

The final result immediately catches the eye between other fish and seafood in the frozen or chilled aisle while at the same time delivering all USPs and product infos.

The
upgrade

As a freelancer I was asked to do a slight redesign of the B2C packaging. I redesigned the B2C packaging of the Shrymps and delivered new printing files for two variants as well as new mockups of the final packaging. The actual challenge here was to create realsitc mockups with see-through areas of the product.

In addition to the B2C packaging I created a new design for a different kind of package and audience for the B2B packaging. By the end of the project I supplied my client with ready-to-print-files and mockups. For the creation of the mockups I made use of free licence mockup files.
